Magic Lamp Friday

So this is a meme hosted by Ya-Aholic.
It's called If I had a Magic Lamp Friday or for short MLF.
For MLF you will post that if you had a magic lamp what would you wish for?  It can be anything from meeting your favorite author, wishing you had a book way before it was released, or well anything!

Wish 1: I wish I had a laptop!
Wish 2: I wish the next installment of Cold blood was out already!

*Note: Thoughtful Thursday is for those books that we have yet to review and have been published more then a year ago.... No worries we will still review it but were just spotlighting it.*

My Life in Pink & Green by Lisa Greenwald

Pub date: March 1, 2009
Publisher: Amulet
Summary: Twelve-year-old Lucy Desberg is a natural problem solver. After the local homecoming queen shows up at her family’s struggling drugstore with a beauty disaster that Lucy helps to fix, Lucy has a long line of makeover customers for every school dance and bat mitzvah. But all the makeup tips in the world won’t help save the pharmacy. If only she could find a way to make the pharmacy the center of town again—a place where people want to spend time, like in the old days. Lucy dreams up a solution that could resuscitate the family business and help the environment, too. But will Lucy’s family stop fighting long enough to listen to a seventh-grader?

This book is a funny and sweet debut featuring an unforgettable narrator who knows what she wants, whether it’s great makeup, a killer business plan, or a better world.

Mrs. Hill from Mrs. Hill's Book Blog has said: This is a fun book that shows girls that they really can make a difference in their lives even at a young age. Lucy is a smart, capable character that I really admire! Lucy's best friend Suny is supportive and a great friend. Suny's brother Yamir is hysterical and quite the character!

Question of the week

What is your favorite Holiday Tradition?
For me it's when we have German Pancakes on Christmas morning. Mom like's cherry's on her's. I like Apple's and my brothers like Blueberry's. My grandpa normally covers his in powder sugar. Oh and they are GIANT!

My favorite Holiday Tradition takes place on Christmas Eve. Every year on December 24th, my family and I gather 'round the dinner table and have a huge feast of ham, potatoes, chicken, ribs, rice and beans, pie, and cake. After eating, we watch movies, talk, and dance until midnight, when it is officially Christmas. As soon as the clock strikes 12:00am, we start to open our Christmas gifts. I love this particular Holiday Tradition because not only is it a great night for family bonding, but it is also a great night to feel the joy of giving gifts and the happiness of receiving them. :D

Title & Author: Everneath by Brodi Ashton
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Publication Date:  January 24, 2012
Summary: Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath. Now she’s returned—to her old life, her family, her boyfriend—before she’s banished back to the underworld . . . this time forever. She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists. Nikki longs to spend these precious months forgetting the Everneath and trying to reconnect with her boyfriend, Jack, the person most devastated by her disappearance—and the one person she loves more than anything. But there’s just one problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who enticed her to the Everneath in the first place, has followed Nikki home. Cole wants to take over the throne in the underworld and is convinced Nikki is the key to making it happen. And he’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back, this time as his queen. As Nikki’s time on the Surface draws to a close and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she is forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole’s queen.
Everneath is a captivating story of love, loss, and immortality from debut author Brodi Ashton.

Review:
I hate clifhangers... But this book had the best clifhanger of all times. The action definatly picked up in this book and I feel a little closer to jayne. Although yes I still call her jane. I am beginning to like her more then I did in the second book. Shes not as new as she was in the first one and she doesn't whine as much as she did in the second one. She's better, she's beginning to become her own person but she's also realizing she doesn't have to fight on her own she has friends that can help. Must read.
