Not enough to call a review

Janet Evanovich books take to long to be published! But they are well worth it. I just wish I hadn't read every single one of her books because now I have to wait till June 2012.... It's just to far away. Anyways, number 18 is amazing number 17 Had a Giant cliff/hanger obviously! I have a few hopes for #19. And many many hopes for #2 (Wicked Business) in the new series.
Oh! And don't get me started on the movie coming out! One for the money! I can't wait to see it.... Although my hopes are not as high for that. I find it better to be prepared for failure then to be prepared for success.

Magic Lamp Friday

So this is a meme hosted by Ya-Aholic.
It's called If I had a Magic Lamp Friday or for short MLF.
For MLF you will post that if you had a magic lamp what would you wish for?  It can be anything from meeting your favorite author, wishing you had a book way before it was released, or well anything!

Wish 1: I wish I wasn't sick anymore (I'm working on getting better)
Wish 2: I wish like many that I had a stable job.
Wish 3: I wish I had my super reading speed back so I can get caught up on the reviews!

OH! Non-selfish wish #4: I wish my best friend gets this place she's looking at so she doesn't have to put up with her ex anymore! (That way she will be a bit less stressed)

Reining in demons and supernatural foes is a formidable task, but thankfully Jayné has vast resources and loyal allies to rely on. She'll need both to tackle a bodyswitching serial killer who's taken up residence in New Orleans, a city rich in voodoo lore and dark magic.
Working alongside Karen Black, a highly confident and enigmatic ex-FBI agent, Jayné races to track down the demon's next intended host. But the closer she gets, the more convinced she becomes that nothing in this beautiful, wounded city is exactly as it seems. When shocking secrets come to light, and jealousy and betrayal turn trusted friends into adversaries, Jayné will soon come face-to-face with an enemy that knows her all too well, and won't rest until it has destroyed everything she loves most....

Review:
Im sad to say the beginning of the second book didn't hold my intrest as well as the first one did. It had a VERY slow beginning. For me anyways I couldn't keep focused on it. Karen Black was a bit of a boring character for me but she also felt like trouble. The end picks up and makes it a pretty fricken fantastic book. 4.5

Thoughtful Thursday

Chronicles of the Apocalypse: Revenge, Everything is Nothing by Zach Richardson
Pub date: May 7, 2009
Publisher:
Zach Richardson
Summary: Chronicles of the Apocalypse is a six part urban fantasy tale of how a handful of individuals from radically different backgrounds must band together and spearhead humanity's fight to survive when our world is invaded by the legions of Hell. Part 1, Revenge, Everything is Nothing introduces the first of these individuals; a 36 year old man named Jin Sakai. A man responsible for the deaths of his wife and two children. When an attempt is made on his own life, Jin takes up his sword and sets out on a furious and bloody quest for revenge, never knowing that he is merely one player in a much larger game...

Krystal at Live to read has said: This book is packed with action, the action is constant and the reader will move from one intense scene to the next.  The author writes as if he himself had the same or similar experiences with these fight scenes as Jin.  Jin is an intriguing, complex character.  The reader may have a hard time connecting to him at first, he can be standoffish.  The other secondary characters vary from interesting to meet to despicable.  The reader will have fun wading through this book.  This book is recommended to young adults/adults who love a good action book.

Review: Please Stop Laughing at me...

Title: Please Stop Laughing at me...
Author: Jodee Blanco
Received: For Review

Summary: While other children were daydreaming about dances, first kisses, and college, Jodee Blanco was trying to figure out how to go from homeroom to study hall without being taunted or spit upon as she walked through the halls.
This powerful, unforgettable memoir chronicles how one child was shunned--and even physically abused--by her classmates from elementary school through high school. It is an unflinching look at what it means to be the outcast, how even the most loving parents can get it all wrong, why schools are often unable to prevent disaster, and how bullying has been misunderstood and mishandled by the mental health community.
You will be shocked, moved, and ultimately inspired by this harrowing tale of survival against insurmountable odds. This vivid story will open your eyes to the harsh realities and long-term consequences of bullying--and how all of us can make a difference in the lives of teens today.

My Review:
I requested to review this book because I came from some what the same background. I was picked on a crazy amount (lost my wording sorry) in elementary school. It made me into the quiet, introverted person I am today. I find it hard to make friends let alone a job because I feel everyone is judging me and I want to make everyone happy. Many new anti-bullying laws have been passed recently. A little to late for me but just in time for the kids of today.

Author Jodee Blanco, so eloquently describes her experiences. She talks about the most intimate, painful things that bullies did to her and their long lasting effects. This is a must read for those who have bullied in your life to know you've hurt people beyond repair... But it's also for those who have been picked on.. Because now you know your not alone.

I would recommend this book to any one. It really is eye opening.
